Surf Westport this Weekend?

I am debating going to Wesport to surf this weekend for the first time. I have lived in the Northwest for 2 + years now and have surfed twice, both times in California. I have a couple boards rotting in the garage and still don’t own a 5 mil wetsuit or hood. What is it going to take to get my ass in the water? I continue to see pictures and videos of decent waves. I am not quite sure how to read the sweel report up here which makes it tough as well. It’s quite a long drive for a crappy day…I supposed I should rent a place for a weekend and give it a go.
